15th May 2018

For the last year or more I have been very involved with the community project ‘Gathering Memories’ which is raising funds for the Alzheimer’s Society.  My role is Chairperson for the Project and I manage the Facebook Page. The project has been very successful with many People participating from Europe. The Exhibitions begin on the 30th June until the end of September with a silent auction. Further information and the chance to see some beautiful textile artwork can be seen at: http://www.gatheringmemoriesuk.wordpress.com

Belonging to the Textile Group Visual Marks, I am creating work for two exhibitions to be held later this  year.

I am an experienced artist working with a variety of textiles and mixed media. I have exhibited my work within galleries and continue to be influenced by historic and contemporary art within these settings. Using my experience of marketing and selling, I find motivating other individuals about textiles exciting and rewarding.

My work is inspired by a narrative of my own memories and journeys through life. As the needle with the thread penetrates the cloth it begins a journey of twisting and turning meandering along its path, inserting and embedding threads into the fabric,  exploring life’s turmoil, perseverance and pleasure .‘…self and world…thought and feeling…’

The expression of imagination, fragility, motivation, experience and determination unfold within my work aiming to make the invisible memories-visible.
